Adrenal exhaustion effects people in different ways. The symptoms will very, but the obvious cause will escape a doctors diagnosis. Doctors can test us for all kids of things, but pin pointing adrenal exhaustion can be difficult. Traditional tests can not always catch small changes in hormone levels. I will attempt to explain how you can recognize adrenal exhaustion. If you think you suffer from this condition there are some steps you can take to living with this it.
The Causes Adrenal Exhaustion?
We have two small glands located near the kidneys. They produce a range of hormones which aid you in coping with every day events. Most of us are aware of the “fight or flight” hormone. Adrenaline provides your body with the ability to respond to stressful situations by solving the problem at that very moment or immediately removing you from danger. For example: you are walking down the street and you see a big dog coming your way. A rush of adrenaline gives your body acceleration and you become very alert allowing you to act quickly.
When we are under a lot of stress every day with our busy lives we will quickly burn through our adrenaline faster than our bodies can replace it. When we deplete our adrenaline supplies our bodies have to adapt to this, which in turn throws our bodies out of whack. With the stress from our jobs and our everyday living it is not surprising that so many people suffer from adrenal exhaustion.
The symptoms of adrenal exhaustion are easy confused with other medical conditions. Most people will think that they are suffering from depression or fatigue syndrome. Common symptoms will include feeling tired all the time or feeling depressed. Other people complain of sleep patterns being interrupted. Body aches and pains, and problems with their digestion.
Coping with Adrenal Exhaustion
Restoring balance to your adrenal gland can be done through general lifestyle changes. Which is something that most of us probably need to do anyway.
Start by making some changes to manage your stress levels. Most people can usually figure out where their stress is coming from. If your job is extremely stressful then finding a new job might be on the list. Remember, this is your health we are talking about. There are also stress-reduction techniques that you can adhere to, such as yoga or simple breathing exercises.
If you find yourself around the kind of people that drain your positive energy reduce or even cut out the time you spend around these people completely.
Cutting out internal stress is important as well, if not the most important. When you catch yourself thinking in a negative way, stop! Replace these negative thoughts with positive ones.
Changing your diet to a healthier way of eating is also a big improvement. The way we eat will impact our hormonal balance. Try to cut out or slowly replace foods that are processed or loaded with sugar. Eating more protein, fruits and vegetables in place of sugar foods or fast foods will give you immediately noticeable results.
A lot of us need our caffeine to get us going in the morning, but try to cut back on your intake. Especially if you are a soda drinker or like drinking those energy drinks through out the day to keep you going. These drinks are counter productive and play havoc on your adrenal glands.
Getting a full 7 to 8 hours a sleep, and including at least regular exercise in to your daily routine will improve your health
Taking vitamin supplements daily to support the bodies nutritional needs is extremely important. Good quality vitamins will supply your body with the vitamins C, B, zinc and magnesium that it needs.
Recovering from adrenal stress is very possible. You just need to take care of yourself by eating properly, exercising and be able to recognize when you are under a lot of stress.
